# ScholarshipsPoints to be aware of
The scholarship is awarded in memory of Alex Richardson, who studied Spanish at St. Andrews between 2006 and 2009 and was known for his passion for the Spanish language and culture. The founder of the fund is Alex's dear family and friends and the scholarship has been awarded since his death in 2009.
Selection Criteria
Have a strong interest in and curiosity about the Spanish language and culture, and the Hispanic world.The Alex Richardson Scholarship is open to all undergraduate students (in their second or third year), not just Spanish language majors.Plan a trip to a Hispanic country (must be detailed) and be able to present concrete outcomes from this trip that will enable them to better understand and appreciate Hispanic culture, including a project.Provide references to support the application. References should be either members of the St. Andrews academy or academics from another university.

How to apply?
Applications for the Alex Richardson Scholarship can be made under Scholarships and Funds. When applying, the "active year (e.g. 2022/23)" should be selected.
Terms and Conditions
It is intended for undergraduate students majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, User Experience Design, User Interface Design, Human-Computer Interaction or similar majors.
For undergraduate students studying Classics, Film Studies, Economics, English, International Relations.
Selection Criteria and Provisions
This scholarship is intended for international undergraduate students who will be studying in departments such as Art History, Biology, Chemistry, Classical Sciences, Computer Science, Theology, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Economics and Finance, English Language, Film Studies, Geography and Sustainable Energy, History, International Relations, Management, Mathematics and Statistics, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology and Neuroscience, Social Anthropology, etc. Applicants must be in the top 10%. A student who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and a strong ability to represent his/her university in fairs and sessions is very important for the committee that will award the scholarship. Students who aim to receive the scholarship should write a motivational letter of no more than 250 words, in which they should specifically mention the principles of mutual benefit, efficiency, success and recognition. Scholarship recipients must comply with both the general rules of the university and the rules specific to this scholarship. (One of these references must be from the academic community, the other may not be from the academic community, but family and relatives cannot be references) These references are required to write a reference letter of no more than 200 words about the student..
